40 Years of Celebrity Spanking: 1977, Lynda Carter

First stop on our trip through time is 1977, the year I was born!

1977, the same year Star Wars was released... a landmark of itself for me as my childhood would be hugely affected by original trilogy. But Princess Leia isn't our spanker for this year, you may be surprised to learn. Instead, it's... Lynda Carter... aka, Wonder Woman!

Can't you just hear that theme tune already?

Lynda Carter, in the 1975-1979 TV series 'Wonder Woman' was an early awakening for me as a kid. I was too young to watch the show on it's initial run, but would later see episodes from time to time in the early 80's, and already at that young age I was in awe of this powerful, capable, female superhero as portrayed by Lynda. I was a comic book reader, but my first encounter with most superheroes came from movies and TV (the Christopher Reeve 'Superman' movies where a childhood favourite), and those glimpses of Lynda Carter as 'Wonder Woman' (aka Diana Prince) were my first introduction to the character.

Although my first real introduction to female superheroes, as I recall, was Batgirl (via the 1966 'Batman' series with Yvonne Craig), Wonder Woman has always been my "spanko favourite" over the years. She's not a 'bad girl' hero (like, say, Black Canary), but she's not a fluffy 'good girl' hero either. Wonder Woman is a warrior. She's a force for good and justice, but doesn't live by a pacifistic code that puts dangerous murderers in prison only to let them escape again! Wonder Woman protects the weak and innocent, but she kicks serious bad guy butt too.

Yet, as portrayed by Lynda, however, she also has a wonderful maternal quality about her: the way she effortlessly overpowers muscular male opponents, often with a smile or a rueful look, one gets the feel she's thinking "you silly boys!". The 70's TV Wonder Woman seldom punches bad guys, but she doesn't have to. Like Superman, it takes almost no effort to restrain or toss a human man aside, and pounding them into the dirt would be uncalled for. There's something delightfully dominant about the way she'll just take a gun from a crook's hand and toss him across the room with a smile... and for said crooks, it is surely far more humbling to be disarmed and subdued with such casual ease than after a hard-won brawl, Batman 'Pow! Thwack!' style! Though she can and does fight when needed, Lynda's Wonder Woman often appears to treat her opponents like a mother stepping in to stop two young boys fighting, rather than as fellow soldiers on a battlefield!

She'd rescue you... then spank you for your recklessness!
As a spanko growing up, Wonder Woman seemed very believable as an actual spanker, too. The above-mentioned maternal vibe, combined with her no-nonsense approach to "naughty boys" of all ages,  makes me see her as the type of hero who'd rather turn a hooligan teenage boy across her lap for an on-the-spot smacking than ruin his life with a police record. She'd see the benefit of humiliating a blustering villain with a public bare-bottom spanking rather than giving them the satisfaction of honorable defeat.

Also, as arguably the leading female supehero in comics, she'd be both positioned and willing (not to mention able) to spank other superheroes too, whether it's a bratty sidekick who still has much to learn or an egotistical "man of steel" or "dark knight" who like to grandstand a bit too much.

And her spanking style? Pure handspanking, I'd say! Does Wonder Woman, who's strength arguably rivals Superman's, need an implement to make a spankee howl with pain? Just a few mighty, thunderclap smacks of her iron palm would surely leave a helpless bottom blazing and burning... and I doubt she'd stop at just a few smacks! Of course, she also has that lasso that could both restrain a villain and magically force him to submit to her will, but it could also be used to whip his backside if more than her palm is needed!

Mind you, it helps all this fantasizing that Wonder Woman's creator had some decidedly kinky ideas in real life, as well as genuine BDSM concepts for the character herself. I mean, how many mainstream superheroes with huge blockbuster movies can claim their creation backstory reads like an old Penthouse comic strip? Wonder Woman, raised on a lesbian paradise island, where bondage and corporal punishment is commonplace, and who's main abilities stem from tying people up and dominating them (and who's weakness is being tied up herself!). Yeah, those 'bad girl' heroines can strut around in as much black leather cracking whips as they like, it's very unlikely they'll ever be kinkier than Wonder Woman, even if more modern takes on the character try to forget her origins!

But back to the subject of our time travel project: Lynda Carter introduced me to the awesome power, beauty and spank-suggestiveness of Wonder Woman and superheroines as a whole, and for that she deserves a place on my list. Gal Gadot gives a great performance in the new 2017 movie, but for me, Wonder Woman will always be Lynda.

I'm hoping to write more on this blog about some Wonder Woman spanking fantasy ideas, but since this post is more focused on Lynda than the character herself, I'll leave you with a final couple of images of the amazing lady herself, in-character...

Imagine dangling over one of those bare thighs, staring at those
boots, feet flailing in the air as your bottom is power-smacked!

Those arms would definitely pack a wallop! Ouch!
But maybe she'd let you cry into that bosom afterwards?

And finally... you know you want to hear it again (and see Lynda in action!):

As for why I picked her for 1977 specifically? Well, the series started in 1975, set in WWII, but the more "spanky" (IMO) seasons were the later (70's-era) episodes. Also, since the self-imposed restrictions of this project mean I can't pick a year earlier than 1977 anyway, '77 seemed the best choice. Particularly as I have to fit in any of my 1970's candidates into just three years.

Which brings us to our next destination, 1978... to be continued!

  1. When I´m looking back over the years, my favorite superheroine who could spank me whenever she wants, was Helen Slater in her part as SUPERGIRL.She was perfect for this part, blonde hair, Long legs and a very pretty face. And she had the perfect age, she was nineteen at that time, not like the new Supergirl Melissa Benoist, who is twenty-eight. An otk spanking from Helen Slater in her Supergirl will be always a dream of me.

And Banjo, do you remember the cartoons where Supergirl spanks a naughty Alien Boy otk and Wonder Woman gets an otk spanking from a kid queen?

    1. While I agree that physically, Helen Slater is a perfect Supergirl and a spanking from her (in or out of character!) would be amazing... I *certainly* wouldn't turn down a spanking from either Melissa Benoist or her version of Supergirl currently on TV! :)

That said, I've had a lot of spanking fantasies about some of the current superheroines (and villainesses!) on TV and in movies these days... maybe that warrants a post someday?

  2. Banjo, your analysis of Lynda Carter's spanko appeal as Wonder Woman is spot on and, to my mind also, she's the obvious nomination for 1977. I think, too, that her spanky domme qualities come over as strongly in her scenes as Diana Prince as in her Wonder Woman scenes: while her WW guise excites, for me too, a sense of the maternal - exactly as you've described - her Diana Prince look for the office, with her subtle, knowing smiles and her prissy dress and glasses, take (and took me) to schoolmistress fantasies about a 'nice', seemingly gentle teacher who nevertheless bends me over in her office and bares my bottom for a sharp application of the ruler! 1977 is a year of tough choices, despite our clear winner. There was Princess Leia, yes; but also Jane Seymour as Farah in 'Sinbad and The Eye Of The Tiger' (imagine an otk with Farah while she's wearing her exotic, diaphonous pants) and Caroline Munro as Naomi in 'The Spy Who Loved Me' (like a voluptuous auntie figure in her bikini, ready to dish out powerful otks by the Med)!
